Summer School Graduation

24th Jul 2020

Graduation Day!

Congratulations to all the children who graduated from Summer School today. We are delighted with the progress that they have made over a relatively short period of time.

In their evaluations the pupils stated that they had developed many new skills and knowledge about division, times tables, electricity, nouns and adjectives and that squirrels eat raspberries and apples!

The children also reported that they now know more about Coronavirus and how to stay safe. The adults in school believe that the children’s attitudes to Covid-19 are much improved and in fact they got used to regular hand-washing, sanitising and the adults wearing visors and masks.

Chair of Governors Mrs Brenda Henry thanked the staff for their dedication to the wellbeing of the pupils and forwarded on the thanks of all the Governors for their generosity of spirit to support the children of Lavey. She added that the Board of Governors were surprised by how few schools offered the DE Summer School programme, but were proud that St Brigid’s responded to the needs of the children at this difficult time.

For all the children and staff who took part in Summer School your summer vacation starts now....... ⛱🏖🏝

Staff return to school on 17th August and pupils will have a staggered intake beginning on 24th August.
