SPORTS DAY!

19th May 2025

19th May 2025

Dear Parent,

We are all enjoying the lovely weather currently, but weather forecasts have predicted rain to begin on Friday. Staff have checked a number of weather Apps, and we are concerned that there is a 60% chance of rain on Monday 26th – our planned sports day. Therefore, we will do the outdoor part of our sports – sprint, sack race, egg and spoon, long throw, etc in Lavey Termoneeny Centre as follows:

Tuesday 19th                                       P5, 6 and 7 races                              9.30am – 11am.

Wednesday 20th                               P1 – P4 races                                     9.30am – 11am.

Pupils should wear their school PE uniform on these days, bring a snack (with some treats), they will return to school before lunch.  Staff will deliver any toast ordered up to the club. If it is convenient to do so; you are welcome to spectate.

If pupils are participating in Walk to School, we will separate them, and those participating in sports will walk to the Club (not to school). Tomorrow, Be Bright, Be Seen, just wear something bright over your usual school uniform.

On Monday 26th Sports Day will be as planned with the indoor events in the Sports Hall.  We have booked Fitness Freddy to work with those children not doing fundamentals in the Club Function Room. Therefore, from 10-11am P1-P4 will be in the Sports Hall doing their fundamentals whilst KS2 are with Fitness Freddy, then the groups swap over.

There will be a Coffee Morning on Sports Day to raise funds for the Féile hurlers, please give generously to this excellent cause.

As a school, our duty-of care is to all pupils, and plans have been changed to protect the wellbeing of our children.
