Skills Test 📋

Well done to the 4 P7 boys and 4 P7 girls who were selected to go to the South Derry Skills tests for Gaelic and Camogie in Meadowbank on the 11th January. They both faced a series of challenges using both sides while they were being timed around the course. Top scorers on the day will get the chance to represent Derry at the halftime National League games, good luck!

St Marys Magherafelt Cross Country 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️

On the 26th January a girls and boys team represented St Brigid’s at St Mary’s Grammar. They faced a tough 1.4km course through grass, mud and hills. Well done to all of our runners but a special mention to the girls who came 1st in the P6 race and an all St Brigid’s podium finish in the P7 girls race, collecting 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals. The P7 boys narrowly missed out on a medal coming in 4th and 5th position in their race. Keep up the great running!

INTO Boys Football 🏐

The boys INTO 5-a-side Gaelic tournament took place on 30th January in Meadowbank. 28 schools from South Derry were represented with only 4 able to progress to the All-Derry finals. The boys played great football in attacking and defence. St Brigid’s topped their group with wins against Crossroads (Kilrea), New Row (Castledawson) and Knocknagin (Desertmartin). They then faced Straw (Draperstown) in their quarter final and won to progress to the finals day. Well done!

INTO Girls Camogie 🏑

Well done to our camogie team who represented St Brigid’s today at the South Derry indoor camogie blitz.
In the group stages, the girls were up against St Eoghan’s PS Moneynena, St Patrick’s PS Glen, St Columba’s PS Straw and St Mary’s PS Bellaghy. Some excellent talent and hard work was displayed, and as one of the winners of their group they went straight through to the playoff. The girls played St Columba’s Kilrea, and were unfortunately defeated after a tense 7 minutes.
The girls represented themselves, their families, their school and their club with pride. Well done everyone!
