St Brigid's Primary School, Moyagall

School Open

6th Jan 2026
Dear Parents, thank you for your patience since 5th January when we have been closed due to the adverse weather conditions.

This afternoon we have completed our Risk Assessment and believe that we are safe to open tomorrow Wednesday 7th. However, we are very aware that there is another Yellow Weather Warning in place for tomorrow with icy conditions.

Whilst our site is deemed safe tonight at 6pm, extreme caution should be taken whilst moving around the school grounds, as some areas may be slippery despite extensive salting in the morning.

School will be open, we pray that the majority of St Brigid's Staff can make the journey to school safely. If you wish to bring children in a little later, when the thaw may have started, that is perfectly acceptable. Likewise, if you want to take older children home at 2pm rather than make two trips for school collections, that too is ok.

Not all transport providers will be operating, so please contact yours to check if they are operational.

Sincerest thanks to DC Coach Hire, who are no longer operating our school run.  For years they have provided an exceptional service and the Convery Family and their drivers have been so professional and helpful - we will miss them greatly.

If you have any safety concerns, please contact the school office from 8.45am. Let us know, how we can help your family to get back in to school safely.

Thank  you, Brenda Henry (Chair of Governors), Mary O Kane (Principal).
