As a yellow weather warning is in place until tomorrow morning, and many local roads are dangerous, St Brigid’s PS Mayogall will continue to be closed tomorrow (Tuesday 6th January).
This decision has been taken to prioritise the safety of our children and our staff (many of whom have to travel a distance). This decision was not taken lightly, and only after a full Health & Safety Risk Assessment was carried out on our school grounds.
As you are aware the majority of our classes are in outdoor mobile classrooms, our grounds are covered in deep snow which could not be cleared and then this large area salted, as we are expecting temperatures to drop - freezing tonight.
We hope to reopen on Wednesday 7th January.
