Primary 7 visit to Stormont

22nd Jun 2021
Wow! What a day! The 22nd June will go down in political history for the fun and games and drama at Stormont today! Following a woodland tour with Duncan and Laura through the estate woodland trail, P7 enjoyed a bug hunt then an al fresco lunch at the picnic area.   Later, it was on to the Mo Mowlam Park for an afternoon of fun and frolics.   Then the Ministers arrived and the media teams of UTV and BBC and the Press Association began to interview the children. They handled it like pros! There were a barrage of cameras and videos all trained on the children who took it in their stride. Not all their interviews made it onto television but we can assure you that the Executive Ministers found some of their questions VERY challenging!    We very much appreciate the time take by the First and Deputy First Ministers, the Finance Minister, the Education Minister, the Agriculture Minister and the Minister for Infrastructure for taking the time to chat to the children today.    Our sincere thanks to the Finance Minister, Conor Murphy for his kind invitation to visit Stormont. He did try to convert some of our boys to support Armagh, but the only time these boys will wear orange is their beloved Lavey!   We are indebted to the DOF staff for organising our visit - you have made magical memories for these children.   Well done P7 - you are amazing ambassadors for your school, your families and for the Lavey community. Well done everyone!   So proud!
