St Brigid's Primary School, Moyagall

Leavers' Mass and Prizegiving

22nd Jun 2023

The sun shone, it was a beautiful morning as our school community came together to celebrate our Leavers' Mass in Our Lady of Mercy Church.  Mass was enhanced by so many of our Primary 7 pupils assisting with the Liturgy - Reading, Offertory Procession, and Altar Serving. Fr Graham bestowed a special blessing on all our P7 leavers and reminded them that they were only P1 pupils when he first came to Lavey.  Fr Graham urged them to remain loyal to their primary school friends even though they may be moving to different schools. The school choir also enhanced the Liturgy with a selection of fitting songs.

Following Mass, gifts were presented to those leaving St Brigid's for pastures new:- Mrs Ciara Trolan, Mrs Louise Mc Kenna, Miss Cara Heaney and Miss Rachel Caulfield. Mrs Monica Shaw is also leaving the school kitchen after many years of dedicated service. Mrs O'Kane thanked everyone for their work and service to the school.

Ms Grainne O'Kane, Mrs Ciara O'Neill, Miss Anna Martin and Miss Oonagh McAlister were presented certificates for their successful completion of professional qualifications.

Miss Martin, Miss McAlister and Miss Cassidy also received recognition of successful completion of their Beginning Teachers' status.

Fr Graham also presented the pupil awards to:

P6 pupil Daniel who won the NI Water poster competition and a £200 donation to school funds.

Girls' Footballer - Ria.
