Girls’ Gaelic Success

24th May 2022

Congratulations to our Girls’ Gaelic team who were runners up in the Sharon Donnelly football blitz today in Glen.

We had a very difficult group and our first game was against a strong Kilrea team in St. Columba’s P.S who pipped it before the final whistle with a score. We then played St. Mary’s Draperstown, Holy Family P.S, Derrychrin P.S and St. Mary’s Greenlough. We dominated these games and made it through to the semi-final.

In our semi-final we met a very determined St. Brigid’s Tirkane. With end to end action the Mayogall girls dug deep and won the game by a single point.

In the final we met St. Columba’s for the second time and despite a strong team effort we were unable to break them down for the win.

Congratulations to St. Columba’s on their win in the Cup section today.

A big thank you to Mrs Bronagh Mulholland from St. Mary’s P.S Glenview for organising a fantastic day of football for the children.

Thank you to all the parents who came to cheer our team today, we value your support as we continue to develop Gaelic Games within our school.

Well done to our team- we are so very proud of you!
