Castle Cup Camogie & Football

17th Jun 2026

Our girls put in outstanding performances across two action-packed days at the Castle Cup, showing tremendous skill, determination and teamwork throughout.

In the camogie competition, the girls finished second in their group to earn a place in the semi-final. They faced a strong Tirkane side and after a closely contested match, were unfortunately defeated by just two points.

The football team enjoyed a fantastic tournament, topping their group with a series of excellent performances. They defeated Swatragh in the quarter-final before meeting Tirkane once again in a thrilling semi-final. Both teams battled from start to finish, but our girls showed incredible resilience and determination to secure their place in the final.

In the final, they came up against a strong Kilrea team. Despite a tremendous effort, the girls were narrowly defeated by four points.

We are incredibly proud of every player for their commitment and effort across both days. A huge thank you to St. Patrick’s College Maghera, for organising such a fantastic two-day sporting event.

We would like to wish all of our talented Primary 7 pupils every success and happiness as they begin the next exciting chapter of their journey in their new schools. We know they will continue to make us proud on the pitch!
