Camogie Success!

10th May 2022

Our P7 girls headed off to Owenbeg today to compete in the All County Camogie Championship.

In the group stage the girls were up against Greenlough, New Row, Derrychrin and Dernaflaw. Some great games were played and the hard work from the girls paid off as they got 4 wins to take them through confidently to the quarter final stages!

Playing Anahorish in the quarter final, the girls went out with a positive attitude and their efforts were second to none. Another win to see them through to the semi final.

Greenlough was up next, having played them before did not matter, we knew this was a new game altogether and we would need to work hard. And that’s what the girls did! A brilliant second half saw them leading with confidence and getting yet another win!

Getting the whole way to the final, the girls were buzzing but kept their heads in the game. They knew the final against Swatragh wasn’t going to be easy and keeping focused was what was needed. A very tight, tough game and a very intense game at that, every minute and every play in the game was vital. The girls performed superbly, fantastic work rate, hunger and determination paid off as they came out with the win and a score line of 1-1 to 1-0.

We are now All County Camogie Champions 😁

A special thank you to Jemma for coaching the girls. We appreciate the time and effort she puts in with our team and today they reaped the rewards.

Well done everyone!
