Back to school!

24th Aug 2020

Well done to all our boys and girls in P7 who started back to school today - we know it was different and a little scary; but unfortunately this is the way things have to be now, to keep everyone safe.

Our new P1’s settled in brilliantly! We are so proud of them all. No tears, no tantrums (well apart from a few emotional parents!) ๐Ÿ˜€ joke....

Staff commented on how well all these children can wash their hands - so thank you to all the families who taught this skill to such young children! ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿšฐ๐Ÿ›

Tomorrow Mrs O Neill and Miss O Kane welcome back their P6 pupils; and Mrs Quinn, Mr Lagan and Mrs Mc Glinchey welcome the Primary 4 pupils.

Can everyone please remember no school bags, but be sure to bring a raincoat as Storm Francis is on the way? โ˜”๏ธ
In St Brigid’s we believe that Storm Francis was named after Master Kelly - creating havoc wherever he goes!

Mrs Mitchell and Amanda are having an early night as they prepare to welcome back today’s pupils and for the first time will meet Caitlin, Saoirse, Louis, Grace, Roman and the 2 Scarletts.

Today’s social distancing measures seemed to work well (but we only had 60 children in school). Tomorrow will be more difficult because we will have 150 pupils and Storm Francis! Parents please be mindful of social distancing regulations. Drop off and Collect children quickly and move away from the school gates - no loitering, lingering and chatting to friends. We need to adhere to Dept of Education regulations. Our aim is to keep Lavey Covid free. ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ–ค

Please follow the staff instructions carefully and move away from the school gates as quickly as you can.

If at any time your child or a family member has Covid symptoms please do not send them in to school. (A high temperature, continuous cough, loss of taste or smell).

We ARE all in this together. We are getting back to school, but school can only stay open, if we adhere to the new regime.

We are all in this together and doing the best that we can. Please , please adhere to social distancing rules. Thank you for your support. Le cheile in eolas ~ together in learning ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ–ค
